Anna Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Ilkay Silk has been an actor, director as well as a producer, playwright, and teacher in St. Thomas University. Anna Silk was the child of both a British father as well as an English-Turkish Cypriot mother. Anna appeared in several advertisements when she was a child. In November 1999, Anna made the move to Toronto to advance her acting career. She ended up moving in Los Angeles, California, during the decade that followed. Seth Cooperman, whom she had met in an Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her partner in the year 2009. Anna had changed her religion to Judaism and the couple married in Fredericton.
