It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she had one of the greatest sporting moments of all time - the first-ever perfect 10 on asymmetrical bars. In addition the feat, she scored six more perfect 10s, thereby becoming the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist, at just 14 years old. Not only did Nadia Comaneci attracted attention from every angle, but she also helped Romania find itself a place on the global map. The sports icon made her a world-wide sensation after she achieved an impossible performance. She created a legend, and helped popularize gymnastics across the world. Additionally, it altered people's perspective of female athletes. It was because of her influence on this Olympics that the uneven bars competition is named for two of the moves after her - toe-on and release move, which remain classified as high-level and level. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships as well as the Olympics. That led to her becoming a legend and she is one of the best gymnasts across the world. In addition, she modeled and promoted the sport of gymnastics after making the move into the US.
